Vehicle Pursuit/ Armed Robbery Suspect Captured- North East Barrack

On 10/27/2016 at approximately 1522 hours, a broadcast was given for a green BMW bearing Pennsylvania Registration JYZ3337 driving S/B on Rt. 272 approaching Rt. 40 that was wanted for an armed robbery which occurred earlier in Newark, Delaware. The suspect allegedly robbed a Game Stop displaying a silver revolver, leaving the store with a large quantity of cash.

Troopers from the North East Barrack immediately responded to the area of Rt. 272 and Rt. 40. The vehicle was located within seconds and refused to obey troopers directions who were in marked patrol vehicles utilizing their emergency equipment.
A vehicle pursuit thus was initiated which headed W/B on U.S. Rt. 40. The vehicle made an abrupt turn into the woods on U.S. Rt. 40 just prior to Coudon Blvd, in what appeared to be a wooded lane; however, this was a dead end. The suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.


Police Personnel quickly set up a perimeter to contain the suspect. Within minutes the suspect/ sole occupant of the vehicle was located and arrested. He was identified as Elivs Aaron Anderson, 41 years of age from RoseDale, Maryland. A check on the vehicle identification number revealed that it was stolen from Baltimore City, and the tags were stolen from Delaware. A search of the suspect revealed a large quantity of cash.


Anderson has been charged with possession of stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, reckless driving, fleeing and eluding, and other traffic charges in Maryland. A warrant is currently being applied for Anderson in Delaware for the armed robbery and other crimes committed in that State.


Investigation is on going. It should be noted that Cecil County Deputies, Perryville Police, and Maryland Transportation Authority Police assisted with this incident.
