A Viewer Writes: Royal Farms

Just picked up some chicken, Royal Farms, Snow Hill Rd.

They think this dry over done old half eaten looking piece of chicken in acceptable to sell to someone for $2.39 a piece.

Disgusting, just disgusting. I don't know why you all rave about this.

I'd put Royal farms chicken up against anybody's on the shore. If you got a bad piece maybe it's an individual employee at a specific store.

So the next time, anywhere, check out your carry out before leaving the property. If unacceptable, see the manager. You're welcome.

If your eating deep fried chicken you have bigger problems then it being dry. Just saying. Our bodies aren't built to digest deep fried food

Then take it back for a refund. I get mine from the Hebron store and it's always been fresh. Usually a store that sees a high volume of business, usually has fresh food that doesn't sit for long. I don't order it much, but I think the chicken is as good if not better than KFC'S original recipe chicken.

It's not even fried, it's pressure cooked. It sucks. And other than EBT holder's, the working people can't afford it.

Go to shore stop my Hermon road best chicken around

Some people were born to be taken advantage of.I've never bought chicken at THAT RFS,but at the other RF stores it's always been really good.

Personally, I think Royal Farms fried chicken is overrated and over priced. Bought it one time.

Need to get the 12 piece for $16.00. MOST times (if you are nice to the employee) a more than 12 pieces might be provided!

Subs for $3 bucks hits the spot too! Again, be nice and a little extra meat can be added for no additional cost.

Its all about one's demeanor that can either make the experience wonderful or just like the picture - dried out chicken!

Ebt card holders cannot buy hot food

Freshly cooked, it is the best -- if in doubt I ask -- sitting in the glass case surrounded by heat lights dries it out - generally looking at chicken in the glass case tells you if it is fresh, and you can pick the pieces you want --

Agree

EBT holders cant buy fried chicken from Rotal Farms..know what you are talking about. Damn cold food only unless you are buying seafood and you pay to have it cooked

RoFo USED to be the best chicken around, but they recently changed their chicken batter and the crust just doesn't taste the same. Anyone notice the potato wedge fries lately? They used to be seasoned with a crispier outside. Now they're soggy, bland and plain. You're lucky if you get some with the coating still attached. Overpriced for a 3 piece tender meal.

9:18, you right, the chicken was okay, but the fries were awful! Mine were also soggy and lacked any flavor. Ended up throwing them out. My dogs didn't even want them!

842-Wrong and wrong. It's pressure fried. And no, those cards don't work for hot food.

I go to this store on a regular basis because its close to me, Coffee is almost always old, store is dirty at night, bathrooms are never clean. Last week I finally got fed-up and quit spending my money there. I drive about a mile and go to WAWA.

ebt card holders enjoy hot steamed jumbo crabs at skipjacks for the hefty price of $1 a bushel while I'm scrounging up enough cash for a dozen. FACT

8:39 AM yea let me stand in the foyer and pick thru a greasy bag of chicken so I can inspect all the pieces. Sure. Can't fix stupid.

You get delicious fried chicken at Village Inn in Parsonsburg.

Don't know how you managed to find overcooked chicken at Royal Farms. Every time I've ever gotten it, it's been grossly UNDERcooked. Plus, zero seasoning, nasty stuff. The western fries never have any coating on them any more, and zero seasoning, not even black pepper.

And their subs/sandwiches use cheap slimy deli meats. I don't know how/why there are so many Royal Farms popping up, when the food at Wawa is so much better!

KFC is better.

Right above the fried chicken purchase area at Royal Farms is a sign that reads, "World Famous Chicken".

I've been around this world a number of times, and only people in the U.S. have ever heard of Royal Farms fried chicken, and even here it's not all that famous.

Agree to disagree here... the best chicken in the world is my grandmothers, so when I want a good piece of fresh, hot, crispy chicken. I pull out my grandmother's recipe, and fry it up. Other than that, look before you buy folks, you can pick and choose.

I've complained to corp about their food before and all I got was a sorry, nothing to rectify the situation.

11:49 Go apply for a cook's job at RoFo and fix the problem.

Anonymous said...

that store has been over run by undesirables so everything there suffers.

Anonymous said...

It is pressure fried. The store i worked at very little was bought on EBT. Which means working people can indeed afford royal farms chicken.
As for this particular piece you should have complained to management. Always check your food before leaving the store. Im most cases if the store was busy the employee doubtfully even looked at the piece before serving. Deli associates are responsible for quite a lot at the stores even when not in high volume

It's probably the one you nibbled on while driving home....you know the aroma was killing you and you forgot you took a bite while driving!!!!

Anonymous said...

World Famous is more "Fake News", outside of the USA no one has heard of it, now if you say "KFC", everyone knows that!

Why do a lot of you say complain to the Manager? Obviously that is part of the problem. If they were doing their job this would not have happened. Wake up Eastern Shore, the Managers at these stores are fed up with the tons of complaints they receive. Oh and by the way, your getting Chicken from a gas station, what do you expect? One more quick note, you can get Steak at Dollar store next to Buffalo Wild Wings.

12:38 PM what are you the amazing kreskin? No the store was not busy, yes she looked at it when she put it in the bag, and I already said I am not standing in the lobby digging thru a greasy bag of chicken to inspect it.

How about, it is their responsibility to not give me crap. It is their job, it is what they get paid to do. The company response is, that is not up to their standards. So it is THEIR job, not mine to make sure their product is edible and appealing.

What a sad commentary to push it on the consumer for THE STORE'S failing.
Sounds like every time you fail it is someone elses fault. Just sayin.

Anonymous said...

Yes it is their job to not serve dried out food but as far as the size of the piece, they do not have any control of what comes in. That is purchased in bulk by their corporate offices and is in no way their fault.

go next door to Dayton's and get some good Chicken! Yum!

Funny how some love KFC inside scoop half of it gets dropped to the the floor after cooked in Salisbury probably why you like it and rofo has gone down

We began getting less than fresh fried chicken at the Royal Farms on Snow Hill Rd. Very sad, because we loved their fried chicken.

Started getting it from the new Royal Farms on Rt.50 and Walston Switch Rd. and it's much better

Anonymous said...

We go to Dayton's. Always have to wait but sure is good.

ROFO is surprisingly the best fried chicken I've ever had... And it's just as good a day or two later.
