Is This Crazy, Or Is It Me?

So yesterday I was driving on Rt. 50 when I saw this tow truck pulling the vehicle above. What kind of blew me away was the rear trailer tires bowing out as if there was simply way too much weight on that axle. Maybe someone in the business can tell us if this is above and beyond, or not?

Not rated for the weight.

Never a cop around when you need one. But they always find me for a tag light out.

That picture doesn’t surprise me at all. Most towing company roll backs I see around here carry vehicles with almost no tiedowns just the winch cable one chain. Plus they are always flying around like the law doesn’t apply to them especially a brand new red Ford tow truck with Salisbury Towing on the door in chrome letters. I see it fly down Division street in Fruitland all the time.

Before I read the comment about the trailer tires the first thing I noticed was the lack of lights. Both on the trailer and vehicle being towed. Not to mention no lights in foggy conditions.

Why is the idiot driving in the left lane?

That is negative camber in the wheels of the trailer to provide stability

Joe, with the little alignment knowledge I have, I do know that a single axle trailer is not aligned with two wheels upright and straight forward, as this causes the trailer to fishtail back and forth. Trailer alignment is way different than vehicle alignment, but this may just be an exaggerated thing due to the small wheels.

Those axles are way overloaded. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that this is a catastrophe in the making. Where are the Police when the public really needs them.

Overloaded. That SUV is full time 4wd so it can drag it's rear wheels, but they are not using the correct system to do that. Right idea... Wrong tool

That model is rated for 3400 pounds.

Repo Man. This is a quick way to get a vehicle to the impound yard. Only used for short tows.
