Oh Goody big well known bands different nationalities would love-not. They probably just selected any unknown band trying to grab their first crowd to play for. That will really be great like the sidewalks being put all over the Presidents Neighborhood area, where there hasn't been any since I moved to that area in 1970! What difference are sidewalks going to make in the ghetto, it looks nice I guess to Jake for the Festival Folks. Of all the things we need he spends $ on unneeded unwanted stuff!

Stabbings and shootings to commence shortly.

I like them.

Sounds like each member is competing with each other and not actually playing with each other. Maybe That's what jazz is. Must be why I don't like it.

Anonymous said...

There'll be some toe tapping when these guys play.

Anonymous said...

I will attend this in lieu of the dude making grunting sounds.

That I may show up for!

That reminds me, I neded to check my calendar to make sure I'm far far away from this sh*tshow!

This could go down as the worst event in the 21st Century for Salisbury. "Could" because there's still 81 1/2 years left in this Century!!!

As a positive note, there will be plenty of time for IMPROVEMENT!

Your a Russian bot

how exciting...

That’s nothing but classic Nawlins Jazz. Why does this freak you out? Who gets so triggered by a Dixieland band?

Anonymous said...

All of the talent lined up so far are not folk music performers. Google what is folk music and you will find out for yourself that what I'm saying is true. They need to rename this event/festival to be fitting to the entertainers they have lined up.

Anonymous said...

notice what is going on here in Salisbury and who its all for ?

Anonymous said...

RUSSIANS! Oh great! Anyway these guys must be playing 3 different songs at the same time. 1-10 I give them a soft 1

Anonymous said...

It's the Eastern Shore, man. If it ain't music 'bout pick up trucks, it just ain't worth listenin' to! Now, where'd I put my Pabst Blue Ribbon?

Anonymous said...

I want these guys to play at my funeral procession up Main Street.

Anonymous said...

I hear that Jake Day has requested that the the state reroute all truck traffic on Friday and Saturday away from downtown.

Anonymous said...

So, where is the "Folk" music band?(s)?

This ain't folk...

@7:07 totally agree!! Nothing closely resembling folk music that I can see. It seems that O'Hare has enlisted a certain few styles of mostly black do called artists. I think this might stem from her husbands ridiculous attempt at satisfying his newfound racist black friends here on the shore. Well let me clear this up for you the majority of us "honkies" "white crackers" or better yet white boys could give two shits about some pathetic folk festival. We learned from the failed Salisbury festival that you don't indulge in open festivals in Salisbury. Unless you plan on no activities say after 10pm you will most definitely be frequented by the finer side of Salisbury residents. One thing is for certain sometimes if you just show some discipline and sit back and let people talk you can find out how full of shit they are. O'Hare and Day are both in way over their heads and the proof will be in the ongoing clusterf*** that's unfolding. I'm going to choose to exercise my white privilege O'Hare and watch this one from afar

Has anyone looked at past performers at the previous National Folk Festivals? It is a very eclectic mix of artists. How about reading their mission statement of what they are about?

The city of Salisbury, MD will host the 2018-2020 National Folk Festival, the oldest, longest-running multicultural traditional arts celebration in the country. The Festival will feature 7 stages of continuous music, a dance pavilion, traditional crafts, regional food, storytelling, parades, and folklife demonstrations in Downtown Salisbury.

This large scale, three-day outdoor event is free to the public and will introduce audiences to a diverse array of the nation's finest traditional musicians, dancers, and other keepers of culture from throughout North America.

You don't like it don't go. Leave town if you're that scared of what is going to happen. Rent one of the orange bikes you all hate so much and pedal away for an hour. Shit list your house with Air B/B and clean up if you feel the need.

I for one am excited as hell and plan on attending all 3 days and volunteering as well. Freakin naysayers need to get off your asses and embrace SOMETHING in this life or continue to stagnate. At least the town is trying. Look at Cambridge, the state it was 20 years ago and it is doing well. Berlin is THRIVING. And none of you seem to realize it. Sure this isn't any sort of "cure all" but it is a start.

Damn I get tired of the whining and do-nothings here.

@8:42 well thank you for finally taking the bait and shooting a response back. Its not about the actual festival and artists. Its been an attempt to draw some of you out by taking a few personal jabs to let you know you can't come here and walk on EVERYBODY with your bleeding entitled liberal hearts. If your going to take on a cause for the betterment of people you'd better make sure its for all and not just what's politically and socially popular at the time. You continue to mistake this little antagonizing as whining. Its merely an indirect way of saying your reverse racist views don't flush with all

As the late great Richard Pryor once "some white boys don't play that shit".

@8:42 your type is the main reason we as you say whine. You look at these do called upgrades in Cambridge and make reference to its status 20 years ago. Well guess what you should have seen it 40 years ago. As for Berlin its been going great for years now and they actually appreciate the elders there and don't have a group that wants it completely their way. You don't here the derogatory disrespectful comments about the born there country living rednecks. But lastly Salisbury arranges an agenda specifically designed to cater to Salisbury university and their liberal curriculum. It pisses a lot of people off that have worked decades to establish some sort of stable retirement community then a group of party hounds want to come on and spend all their hard earned tax dollars on sovvoal activities that not everyone has a say in. Yea its a pretty cushy life when you can legally get away with theft and call it operating expenses. Salisbury isn't meant to be run like a business right off for expenses to fulfill your personal social agendas. Yea I used to get pretty pumped up to when I was a young piss ant and partying was such a priority of "problem" that it gets me excited months in advance looking forward to it. But it was always a time to remember when you are going it on others people's money. There has to be some sort of character/integrity flaw when you can millions in a cities emergency savings for your personal social agenda. From Salisbury's past record with this scenario I pray its not you or your loved ones that comes across the wrong group of thugs

Don't wish to attend & shouldn't be forced to pay a single dollar for this production!

Anonymous said...

Salisbury be careful out there today!! Water already standing in major city streets(avoid Fitzwater street as usual, canal park) causing hydroplaning!! But hey you've been dealing with poor municipal roadways for decades now unlike all the recently smoothly paved streets behind SU!! Hey guess what Jake day is probably 5 million into your emergency rainy day funds paying for his pathetic attempt to seem successful and liked. How ironic though a "rainy Day" fund supposedly to be used for the betterment of ALL citizens being drained and stolen for Jake days ego.

Have to say Berlin is doing so well because they accept their rural farm base and allow ALL to participate. Their fiddlers convention is just that bluegrass and fiddlers. Their not a bunch of immature sissies trying to upset the balance that is Berlin. Jake Day its all about balance and compromise not tunnel vision and spending at all costs to create some fake success story

Anonymous said...

its supposed to be a folk festival. What the hell happened to that? Jake couldn't get actual Folk acts? I wont be going and i don't want my tax dollars paying for this mess either. Jake wants it, let him pay for it. Or anybody else that actually wants it. Let them spend their money on this failure. NO County money! With all the issues within the city and they are spending money on this failure. This is why we can't have nice things. Stupidity idiocy.

You little darlings need to google the definition of Folk Music. You may be surprised your belief is incorrect

Everyone complains and no one runs for office. SMH.

Anonymous said...

You are joking right about Berlin and Cambridge. I don't think even Easton has something go in it's favor. Sad

folk mu·sic
noun
music that originates in traditional popular culture or that is written in such a style. Folk music is typically of unknown authorship and is transmitted orally from generation to generation.

The definition doesn't imply black music to be substituted.

American traditional folk music is also called roots music. Roots music is a broad category of music including bluegrass, country music, gospel, old time music, jug bands, Appalachian folk, blues, Cajun and Native American music.
---

Not black music, ghetto music, wrap, beatbox, jazz or any other form of ghetto music found in da 'Bury's new line up of performers.

Jake Gay and Caroline O'Hairless are way over their heads and this will be the first year and last year of this Ghetto Festival in da 'Bury. Mark my words. Joe and I will be all over this like White on Rice.

Do they actually get paid to do this? Must wait till everyone in the crowd is drunk. Only way for this to sound anywhere near good. This is going to be all folked up. What a waste this folk trash is going to be. Drunks and thugs everywhere. Watch and see.
