Delegate Norm Conway constantly votes for things that do nothing to help us in Wicomico County

I’ve shown a ridiculous amount of wasteful spending by the Wicomico County School Board. That board is appointed by the Governor. Nearly every other school board in the state is elected. Now I’m the first to admit that elected officials can and do mess up, but having an elected school board gives YOU a voice. If we had an elected school board then at least the voters would have a chance to send the people who waste millions of our hard-earned dollars packing! I want to be able to do that.

Guess who doesn’t want us to have that right?

Norm Conway blocked it in 2011.

Norm Conway sent $1.1 billion to *Baltimore city public schools while our elementary school children attempt to learn in “temporary” trailers, many of which have been in use for well over a decade! And why would anyone put the most vulnerable of our students in trailers? Why are these trailers at elementary schools? How is that justified?

Can anyone explain to me why “The Chairman” who continually sends projects to the western shore is seen as valuable here?

Of course if you are a the Willards Loins Club and you throw the chairman some fundraisers, then you might get something.

Remember this?

"Friends to Re-Elect Norman H. Conway
Fundraiser this Sunday, January 5 at Willards Lions Club 1-4pm
e-mail: martyneat@yahoo.com (410) 543-8712"

A few months after this event Delegate Conway funneled over $50,000 of our hard earned money to the Willards Lions Club for… something?

This isn’t a knock on the Lions Club. I get that they are a civic organization that serves the community. But why should the rest of us pay them over $50,000? Maybe I’m a member of the Elks or Eagles or Moose lodge, why should my tax money go toward the Lions club?

It shouldn’t.

Delegate Conway should have thrown a fundraiser for them so their membership and anyone else who wanted to support them could chip in to cover their needs. That is how civic organizations work. Tax money shouldn’t be used. And it especially shouldn’t be used in something that looks this shady. You throw me a fundraiser, I’ll have the citizens of Maryland write you a check!

How in the world can people support someone who has failed to bring jobs, failed to restore money for the towns and counties to build roads, sidewalks and bridges, and failed to show any sort of leadership that gives Wicomico County a voice in Annapolis?

Jim Perdue: 'We have no seat at the table in Maryland'

Perdue Farms Chairman Jim Perdue showed no love for Maryland's regulatory climate Wednesday, offering an unfavorable comparison to neighboring states.

"The problem is, we have no seat at the table in Maryland," said Perdue, who spoke at a Maryland Chamber of Commerce CEO Spotlight. "Even if we have an onerous thing that happens in Virginia or Delaware, we can sit at the table and at least express our opinion."

Salisbury-based Perdue Farms is one of the largest chicken producers in the country and one of the top privately held companies in Maryland, with annual revenue of more than $6 billion.

Maryland tends to regulate to solve problems, even in cases when the regulations aren't effective, Perdue said. He offered the example of a farmer spending $300,000 to build a chicken house.

EVIDENCE O'MALLEY/BROWN ARE BRIBING CURRENT AND FORMER STATE EMPLOYEE VOTERS

Gov. O'Malley/Anthony Brown have waived the normal monthly medical premiums for ALL state employees, both active and retired for the month of October, 2014. Some active and retired employees will save as much as $300.00 for the month of October.

Yesterday we announced that the state of Maryland is currently more than $400,000,000.00 in debt and are desperately trying to find ways to come up with that money to meet their current bills/debt.

O'Malley/Brown have created a Rain Tax as well as raised the Tolls around the entire state, yet when it comes time to VOTING, even AFTER yesterdays debt announcement, they'll charge YOU the TAXPAYER to foot the medical premiums on every non state employee in the state to ENCOURAGE you/them to vote for yet another SANTA CLAUS, BROWN.

That's right, YOU will be footing the bill of around $300.00 PER PERSON, for current and former employees. How convenient that this will happen in OCTOBER, just before the election.

It's time for immediate change. It's time to vote for HOGAN and stop what I see as ILLEGAL practices and STEALING from the very taxpayers that keep ALL Liberals afloat.

By the way, that means Jim Ireton, Laura Mitchell, Rick Pollitt and the likes will also get a FREE RIDE at taxpayers expense.

Oklahoma Woman Beheaded By Islam-Evangelizing Co-Worker

An Oklahoma man beheaded a woman after a workplace dispute on Thursday, the Associated Press reports.

Moore Police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis said Friday that the suspect Alton Alexander Nolen, 30, entered the Vaughan Foods processing plant in Moore, Oklahoma on Thursday and beheaded 54 year-old Colleen Hufford.

Nolen had recently been trying to convert his co-workers at the company to Islam, Lewis said Friday, according to interviews with the company’s workers.

After stabbing and beheading Colleen Hufford, Nolen began to do the same to 43 year-old Traci Johnson, but was stopped when the company’s chief operating officer, Mark Vaughn, who also serves as a reserve sheriff’s deputy, shot and injured Nolen.

Eric Holder To Step Down As Attorney General

Eric Holder Jr., the nation's first black U.S. attorney general, is preparing to announce his resignation Thursday after a tumultuous tenure marked by civil rights advances, national security threats, reforms to the criminal justice system and five and a half years of fights with Republicans in Congress.

Two sources familiar with the decision tell NPR that Holder, 63, intends to leave the Justice Department as soon as his successor is confirmed, a process that could run through 2014 and even into next year. A former U.S. government official says Holder has been increasingly "adamant" about his desire to leave soon for fear he otherwise could be locked in to stay for much of the rest of President Obama's second term.

PG Officer's Conviction Tossed In UMD Beating Case

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) -- A Prince George's County police officer convicted of beating a University of Maryland student during a 2010 celebration has had his conviction overturned.

James Harrison was found guilty of second-degree assault in the 2010 beating of a student during a celebration that followed the Maryland basketball team's win over Duke. Harrison was given a one-year suspended sentence in 2012 and served 30 days of home confinement. But earlier this month, after a reconsideration hearing, a judge overturned the conviction, giving Harrison probation before judgment.

State's attorney's office spokesman John Erzen says prosecutors were disappointed that the judge set aside the jury's verdict. He said the judge gave no reason in ruling.

A telephone message left Wednesday for Harrison's attorney was not immediately returned.

6.5-ton Armored Vehicle To Roll Through Pennsylvania Woods In Hunt For Suspected Cop Killer

Authorities hunting a survivalist and suspected cop killer in the rugged woods of eastern Pennsylvania have brought in a 6.5-ton armored tactical vehicle dubbed "The Rook" and outfitted with robotic video cameras to assist in a search now entering its 12th day.

The massive search for 31-year-old Eric Frein, who is charged with killing one trooper and wounding another, now includes a 13,000-pound machine that allows officers to gain entry to the second story of a house without a ladder or to deploy snipers to rooftops.

“The Armored Deployment Platform (ADP) allows officers to approach structures with reduced exposure,” according to manufacturer Ring Power Tactical Solutions. “A team can be placed anywhere and have a secure position from which to make better tactical decisions.”

Waitress Says Rush Limbaugh Tipped Her $1,000 on Two Occasions — Here’s What She Did With the Money Just to Spite Him

A waitress turned author claims she received two generous tips of $1,000 on two separate occasions from conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh — but she couldn’t find it in herself to keep the “blood money.”

Instead, she allegedly donated a “sizable chunk” of Limbaugh’s $2,000 tip to an abortion charity.

Author Merritt Tierce makes the claim in her debut novel “Love Me Back,” in which she tells stories about her experience as a waitress at a fancy Dallas steakhouse.

In a recent interview with the Dallas Morning News, she recalled the two occasions where Limbaugh and his friend, sportscaster Al Michaels, dined at the restaurant and left the massive tips.

“President Obama just landed in New York for #UNGA2014,” says the caption.

The salute is “the most important of all military courtesies,” says a manual for Marine Corps officer candidates.

Amazon Is About To Start Collecting Sales Tax On Maryland Orders

Amazon.com Inc. on Oct. 1 will begin collecting Maryland's 6 percent sales tax on online orders, a practice that was expected to begin once the company established a presence in the state.

Customers purchasing items online from Amazon have avoided the sales tax because Amazon didn't collect it. But once Amazon announced it would build a fulfillment center on Broening Highway in Baltimore, it became clear the sales tax collection would start — it was just a matter of when.

The state Board of Revenue Estimates estimates in December that Amazon's sales tax collection would amount to about $50 million in new revenue annually. Including the increase from Amazon, the state projects it will collect $4.15 billion in sales taxes next year, a 5.2 percent increase.

A lady in Monte Vista, CO had this dollar bill. This is her story.

After dinner she took a $1 dollar bill out of her purse and displayed

We took this picture of her dollar bill. These are beginning to show
up all around our country! If anyone tries to give you one of these
dollar bills as change, please refuse it and ask them to give you a
dollar bill that has not been defaced.

Pros, Cons Argued On Proposed Wind Farm

Even as a feisty grassroots citizen coalition steps up its campaign to block a proposed wind energy farm in southern Somerset County, Md., company officials continue to profess the ultimate success of the $200 million venture.

“The project is still very much on track,” said Adam Cohen, vice president of Pioneer Green Energy of Austin, Texas, who heads the company’s East Coast operations.

As envisioned, the Great Bay Wind Center would consist of a large colony of perhaps 50 wind towers, from which, opponents claim would extend blades 695 feet into the air.

The venture, again as envisioned, would impact an estimated 50 to 60 farms, either for tower construction or for rights-of-way for underground power lines.

Pioneer Green says the project will produce $44.4 million in county tax revenues on top of additional royalties and lease payments to farmers.

Seventy-Two Killed Resisting Gun Confiscation In Boston

National Guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed by elements of a para-military extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw.

Speaking after the clash, Massachusetts Governor Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction, which was made up of local citizens, has links to the radical right-wing tax protest movement. Gage blamed the extremists for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The governor, who described the group’s organizers as “criminals,” issued an executive order authorizing the summary arrest of any individual who has interfered with the government’s efforts to secure law and order. The military raid on the extremist arsenal followed widespread refusal by the local citizenry to turn over recently outlawed assault weapons.

Gage issued a ban on military-style assault weapons and ammunition earlier in the week. This decision followed a meeting in early this month between government and military leaders at which the governor authorized the forcible confiscation of illegal arms.
